“Exploring new paths” – this also applies to the DGOU. With the resolution of the 2024 General Assembly that the DGOU represents the overarching and common interests of the field of orthopaedics and trauma surgery and thus all trainees and specialists, the course has been set for a sustainable restructuring and an adaptation of the statutes. Colleagues in private practice in orthopaedics and trauma surgery will also face major challenges as a result of the merger of the disciplines, which require a solution.

Without the specialist societies, professional associations, sections, committees, working groups, academies and papers, as well as the content submitted by you, the creation of a clinically and scientifically high-quality programme would be inconceivable, which is why we look forward to working together. The same applies to the industry partners and the congress organizers, without whom the DKOU would not have been the largest congress in the field of orthopaedics and trauma surgery for years.

However, the DKOU will also be particularly valuable due to the many opportunities for meetings, networking and professional and collegial discussions.
